Leah Pebbles
On May 22, 2006, Leah Peebles (23) took a leap of faith and moved from Fort Worth, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico. This wasn't a decision that she took lightly. Leah had turned to dr.ugs when she was in high school due to trauma of ab.use from her past. This led Leah to receive treatment from Fort Worth Teen Challenge, a Christian residential dr.ug and alc0hol treatment facility for women when she was 18. Within 21 months of being in the facility, Leah graduated from cosmetology school and started working at a beauty salon. Unfortunately, Leah relapsed and started using again. After that, she got arrested twice for drug charges and served two short jail sentences. This led to her losing her job at the salon, as they thought she was unreliable. Her parents urged her to go back to rehab, but Leah wanted something different, something new. So in May 2006, she moved to New Mexico. Leah made the move temporarily staying with friends in Albuquerque. On May 22, 2006, Leah went out on a date with a man she met at the Flying Star Cafe, where she had a job lined up for the following week. After the date, Leah allegedly dropped her car off, a silver 2000 Volkswagen Beetle sedan at a transmission shop after getting into a minor accident in an area infamous for dr.ugs and s3x workers. When Leah never returned to her friend's house, they got worried and reported her missing. A few weeks later, her car was abandoned beside a ravine near Leimert Boulevard with her wallet, identification, mp3 player, and cell phone inside. In the years since her disappearance, people have claimed to have seen Leah near a bus stop. A few witnesses claimed that Leah crossed paths with a pimp in the area and got trafficked and was working under the name "Mia." Leah's father John Daniel Peebles, embarked on his own quest to find his daughter. He went to states such as; New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada, looking for any trace of his daughter. John even made 10-11 trips across the country looking for his daughter. Despite questioning several witnesses and searching in various places, he never found a trace of his daughter. On August 5, 2013, John was involved in a motorcycle accident, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. Leah's case remains unsolved. If you have any helpful information about her whereabouts or you think you may have spotted Leah, you are asked to call (505) 242-2677 (Albuquerque Police Department).
